Lepopäivä / Rest day
The piece makes rest visible in one of Helsinki’s busiest intersections — a place said to host the most hurried people in Finland. For a full workday — eight hours — the artist rests in a large bed at Helsinki Central Railway Station, engaging in typical “day off” activities: watching movies, eating pizza, playing board games, reading books, and chatting with friends.Passersby are also invited to join the leisurely atmosphere: a cozy armchair and a neck massager are available for spontaneous guests who wish to take a break. With this piece, the artists aims to highlight rest as an act worth noticing and to spark discussion about our relationship to it.Who is allowed to rest?Premier: January 2026
